Adapting ESL material to be suitable for Japanese High School students

Hi, I'm currently studying a Graduate Certificate in TESOL and I am completing an assignment on teaching English in Japan. For one assignment, I need to modify two lesson plans, or two different sets of materials, to make them suitable for Japanese JHS or SHS. I'm stumped as to what to do because most of the resources I own wouldn't need a lot of adapting (if any) and are respectful of cultures around the world & provide suitable low-level, engaging English lessons.
