ALT needed in Nara English teaching Position (for applicants currently living in Japan) Location Kashihara City, Nara prefecture Salary 260,000-280,000 /Month depending on experience Holidays 10 paid holidays per year Start date April 1, 2010 Requirements * English Native Speaker level * Bachelor’s degree * Some previous teaching experience About us: Nara International Exchange Center is a non-profit organization based in Kashihara City in Nara Prefecture involved in various activities with the aim of promoting international exchange and understanding in Nara prefecture. We have regular conversation classes for all ages and levels in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean and Chinese at our schools in Kashihara, Saidaiji and Gakuenmae and at our Kashihara school we offer Japanese lessons for a nominal fee to foreign residents. We also dispatch teachers to elementary schools in Kashihara City and participate in intercultural events in Nara prefecture. We are looking for two teachers to join our team as ALTs. Teachers will be dispatched to all elementary schools in Kashihara City in a new program beginning in April. We are looking for creative people who, in addition to teaching, can also help develop the program which will be based on the Eigo Note elementary school text book. The position -full time teaching position to teach mainly elementary school classes in Kashihara City but sometimes also our regular conversation classes for children and adults. -position to start April 1. -8 hour work day with a 1-hour unpaid break, work hours may differ from day to day but will mainly be from 8 to 5. -1-year contracts with the possibility of renewal -Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays off, 10 paid holidays in the first year How to apply Please send a cover letter by email to steve@gcajapan.com stating why you would like the position and why you are eligible and suitable.
