Can I teach English for only a year?

Hi, I am currently a female student in Florida in college. I'm in a program to get an English Education degree and then I was planning on getting my Masters in English. I've always wanted to go to Japan, teaching English in Japan sounds like an amazing idea for me to do in between the two degrees. By that time I would be a 22 years old. Is it possible to only teach English for a year? Are there certain organizations that allow people to do that or do you have to move, get a job, and then quit after a year? I was just curious. Thank you so much for your time!
