English Tree Japan requires teachers in Mie and Shima Gun. Job Description: English teacher (for students aged 0 to 70s). Curriculum and training provided. Candidates must genuinely like teaching English, possess a basic understanding of Japanese culture and have the ability to deal with the needs of children and adults, be positive, hard working and have a professional attitude. Requirements: Applicants must be devoted to their job while working, be open to advice and discussion relating to teaching styles and speak English at the level of a native speaker. Compensation Package and Accommodation: Salary: 250,000 yen -260,000 yen per month (dependent on experience). The first 3 months fall within a probationary period. Bonus: 100,000 yen (after the successful completion of a 1 year contract). A bonus will be paid for the teacher’s perfect attendance as well. Commuting fee: Fully covered. There is a company car that the teacher can use in each apartment. The car can be used for private use up to 200 km per month. Accommodation: The teacher will be required to pay monthly rent on a furnished apartment which will be from around 20,000 yen to 60,000 yen (dependent on the apartment - 2LDK~3LDK). There is also a 10,000 yen furniture rental fee per contract. Location: It takes 1-2 mins walk from the station (or the bus stop) to the apartment. The supermarket will be walking distance from the apartment. Holidays: Golden Week: 7 days; Summer: 3 days; Winter: 14 days (dependent on the school calendar) Conditions: Working days: 5 days per week (Tuesday to Saturday). Working times: Tuesday to Friday 3:00 P.M ~ 8:30 P.M (dependent on the schedule), Saturday 10:00 A.M – 3:00 P.M or 4:00 PM (dependent on the schedule). Every Thursday is training and teacher development day; starting at 11:30 A.M. Some of the days during the week may have an earlier start of 1:00 P.M for extra lessons. Lesson preparation time will be 1.5 hours which can be done at school or at home (8 hours working time a day which includes driving or general commuting time to the school Average teaching time per day: 5 hours Average class size: 7-8 students Position start date: ASAP Contract term: 1 year The school is able to provide full visa sponsorship. Overseas applicants are able to apply but moving to Japan immediately is a requirement. It is preferable for the candidates to have a Japanese or international driver’s license but application for either of these can be done, if not done already.
