Looking for an Energetic Individual in Tokyo to Teach English to Children
by Global Kids Club (GKC
Global Kids Club (GKC) is a new type of after school program. The concept of GKC is to prepare students for a global society by developing their 21st century skills and ability to communicate in English. We believe that every child should possess the 21st century skills in order to succeed in the future. They are called the “Four Cs”: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Creativity. We try to incorporate the “Four C’s” in our lessons and activities which are conducted in English. In order for Japanese children to be able to communicate in a global community, English is an important tool. However, Everyday English is new to the majority of Japanese elementary school students since it has not been taught in elementary school. English (4 skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) need to be taught in a way they understand. For this reason, we are looking for candidates who are sincerely interested in teaching children with little or no English.
We do not require candidates to have ESL/TOEFL certificates because we are more interested in your ability to manage and work with a group of children.
Here are key requirements:
• Native speaker of English
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience working with children
• Interested in Japan and Japanese culture
