Dear How to Teach English in Japan readers,

The Embassy of Canada is seeking a motivated high school student of Canadian citizenship currently studying or resident in Japan to represent Canadian youth in an exchange program on the topic of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.

This two-day exchange program is being organized by the Government of Japan and the City of Hiroshima in connection with the 2014 Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Initiative (NPDI) and is scheduled to take place in Hiroshima on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12, 2014.

The selected student will participate in (1) activities to develop friendship among participants; (2) activities to gain knowledge of the tragedies resulting from atomic bombings; and (3) a discussion among participants on disarmament and non-proliferation issues. The exchange program will be composed of youth participants from the NPDI member countries.
