Full-time, eight 90-minute lessons/week, classes spread over 4 days/week, most classes meet twice/week M/Thur and Tue/F, some classes meet once/week. Classes include: Required Listening and Speaking and Required Reading and Writing courses, electives such as TOEIC/TOEFL, Career English, Grammar, Interactive English, Practical English, Pronunciation, Presentation, Debate, Discussion, Career English and Critical Thinking Minor courses, and Intercultural Understanding Minor courses. Weekly office hours, attend monthly teachers' meetings, proctor common exams, work on committees and special events. Native English speaker, MA (TEFL, TESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related area), and three years teaching experience at the college/university level in Japan required. Ph.D. (TEFL, TESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related area), publications in TEFL, TESL, Linguistics or a related field), TESL/ESL, teaching, RSA certification, conversational Japanese speaking ability, and experience with Moodle preferred. APPLICANT MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN JAPAN. Will sponsor or renew visa. Accommodation: "housing allowance: ¥15,000 per month." Annual research allowance, transportation allowance, paid holidays, paid vacation, and health insurance. One-year contract, renewable up to six years. Application deadline September 28, 2012. Candidates who pass the first stage of the selection process, will be notified in October. Interviews (including a mock teaching session) for candidates successfully advancing to the second stage will likely be scheduled for late October/early November."
