Full-time ALTs Required in various parts of Japan

JOYTALK is now accepting applications for energetic & enthusiastic native English speakers to work as ALTs in Japanese public junior high schools and elementary schools in the Kanto region north of Tokyo and the Tohoku region in north-eastern Honshu, starting in March/April 2011.

Applicants should be native speakers of English, have a university degree, be willing to commit to at least a one year contract, enjoy working with children, have an interest in Japanese language & culture and be a team player.

Applicants would also be highly regarded if they hold education qualifications and / or have previous teaching experience either in their home country or as an ALT in Japan and / or have conversational level Japanese skills.

Joytalk has been recruiting foreign staff for more than 25 years. We pride ourselves on providing quality and personal assistance to our foreign language staff. We provide visa sponsorship, paid holidays, discounted car rental, rental accommodation for our teachers if necessary and provide 24 hour support or assistance in other areas where needed. We also provide on-going teacher training with workshops held a number of times throughout the year, including prior to the start of the assignment and reimbursement for work transportation costs.

The positions are Monday to Friday with the maximum work hours being 8am to 5pm, depending on the contract location. The salary also depends on the contract location, as well as qualifications, teaching experience and Japanese language skills and as such will range between 190,000 and 260,000 yen per month.

We support our ALTs not only in teaching, but also in all aspects of life in Japan, 24 hours a day, including such things as large or small problems, negotiations, accidents, emergencies, etc.
