Teach English in Japan - Preschool Teacher Required

Full-time, 40 hours/week, 21 teaching/class hours/week, M-F, 9am-6pm. 250,000yen/month. Teach at English immersion preschool.


"Our curriculum is based on the British "Early Years Foundation Stage", offering students not only communication, language and literacy in English, but also; Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy; Knowledge and Understanding of the World;


Physical Development; and Creative Development." Play a full role in the planning and delivery of all of these areas of the curriculum, as well as providing a high level of pastoral care for students three and six years old. The majority of work will be in a team-teaching environment. Attendance at weekly planning and development meetings, and termly staff in-service days.



Two courses will run at the school, a morning immersion preschool, from 09.30-14.30, and an afternoon juku for students aged between three and ten years old, from 16.00-17.30." Teaching location Okayama City.


Proper visa, native English speaker, BA, TESL/TEFL/TESOL certification, one year experience teaching at the kindergarten/elementary level in Japan, and basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint) required.



MA/B.Ed/BA.Ed (Early childhood education, primary education, Linguistics preferred), teaching license, over 3 years experience teaching at the kindergarten/elementary level in Japan, and conversational Japanese speaking ability preferred. APPLICANT MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN JAPAN, preferably in the Okayama area. Will sponsor or renew visa.



Accommodation: "not included, but can be arranged for the successful applicant." Paid vacation (one month in the summer, two weeks in winter, one week in spring), Japanese national holidays, any additional working days (for example weekend events) will be paid back as time in lieu, and staff whose children attend the school receive a discount on fees. One-year renewable contract.
