Teach English in Osaka! EFL INSTRUCTOR. Full-time, average 24 contact teaching hours/week within a 160 hour scheduling block/month. 255,000yen/month. Teach EFL to a wide variety of students. "Commercial EFL texts are generally used. Most classes are 1:1-3 and last for 30-50 minutes. Teacher is expected to create a learning environment that is relaxed and friendly." Teaching location Kawachinagano-shi, Osaka-fu (south Osaka) located on the Nankai Koya Railway and Kintetsu Railway. BA (Education or TESL preferred), and ability to teach without direct supervision required. One year active EFL teaching experience in Japan or Asia, proven, documented track record of success in the classroom, and TESL/ESL, teaching or RSA certification preferred. Applicant NOT REQUIRED to reside in Japan, "though applicants from areas directly affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami will be seriously considered and may be given priority." Will sponsor or renew visa ("candidates holding spouse visas are welcome to apply"). Accommodation: "an efficiency apartment (3rd floor) is available for rent near both main school (3 min.) And train station (3 min.). Instructor is responsible for rent and all utilities. Apartment has a unit bath/shower, an electric range, a refrigerator, and an air conditioner/heater." Transportation paid between schools assuming instructor lives in Kawachinagano-shi (for any instructor living further away, the travel allowance will be negotiated). One-year renewable contract (two year maximum contract period possible). Position begins June 27, 2011 (position will remain open until filled).
