Managing all aspects of stateside and overseas technical training for Peace Corps, I designed, coordinated and implemented complex experientially oriented training. Crossing many fields of expertise including horticulture, agriculture, forestry, agro-forestry, social forestry, conservation, parks and reserves, health and nutrition, cross cultural communication, and extension I facilitated the training of over two hundred International Development Workers and Host Country Participants.
I hired, trained, supervised, evaluated and collaborated with intercultural teams to develop training goals, objectives core curricula, and trainee performance standards. Handled logistical preparations, coordinated schedules, integrated training components, edited and compiled assistant trainer?s reports, and wrote progress and final reports.
I personally performed hundreds of hours of training sessions for groups ranging in size from 2 to 60 and in age from 20 to 67. Groups were assigned to fill various technical skill areas in multiple countries and were composed of participants with wide ranging experiences, abilities and diverse cultural backgrounds. I assessed Trainee performance, gave verbal and written feedback and provided trainee counseling and guidance. Trainings were often Village-based or located at Educational Institutions.

During my first year, I worked as an Extension Agent teaching Villagers, Primary School Students and Tanzanian Extension Agents improved grain storage practices, tree nursery development and care, dry season vegetable gardening, and nutrition.
In my second year, I managed all aspects of a multifaceted environmental improvement project in one of two project districts. I coordinated extension and assistance efforts to five project villages in self-help shallow well installations, community based reforestation, dry season vegetable gardening, nutrition, and improved household grain storage. I regularly traveled to project villages to monitor project activities, meet with village leaders, trouble shoot technical problems, and facilitate extension efforts. I produced and disseminated outreach literature, equipment tracking forms and project evaluation forms in Swahili. I developed and delivered training to Agriculture and Forestry Extension Agents Utilizing techniques such as in-field training, visitations of peer work areas, peer cross training, and site visits to demonstration gardens and nurseries.
