TEACHER FOR RETURNEE STUDENTS

Part-time, 5 hours/week, Sat, 10am-3pm. 3600yen/hour. Teach returnees from overseas and graduates of English kindergartens from 5-7 years in new add-on class to Saturday program. Classes are dedicated to working on the four skills in language arts and task/subject-based (i.e.. create games, cooking, presentations, math, science, etc.) thematic units to achieve a well-rounded education. Teachers follow a guided curriculum to prepare the syllabus, lesson plans and assessment for each thematic unit. "This is NOT an English 'conversation' environment." Teaching location Toyocho Station on the Metro Tozai Line. Proper visa, BA/BS (Early Childhood/Elementary Education), experience teaching language arts or subject-based classes, experience teaching reading and writing at the grade 1 and 2 levels, ability to connect with all students in a multiage/multi-level class, excellent classroom management skills (8-12 students) and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills (for briefings/progress conferences with parents), and MS Word skills required. MA (Early Childhood/Elementary Education), teaching license, experience teaching ESL, experience teaching elementary school/kindergarten, and basic Japanese ability preferred.
