Hawaii is one of the top vacation spots for visitors from Japan. But the Hawaiian Islands have so much more to do than just splashing in the water and lying on the beach.

We have gathered together some good travel resources for North America here. Often teachers based in Japan travel to North America, as the yen is strong and it isn`t so far to Hawaii, Vancouver, San Francisco, Seattle or L.A.

I have travelled to Vancouver many times, Seattle and Hawaii from Narita. I have also been to California. With direct flights, Japan is not so far away from many places in the world.

One of my students, a Japanese traveled route 66 by motorcycle and loved it. Another drove from California to Florida. More and more Japanese are studying English then striking out on their own, without a tour guide, which is great.
